Wynnfield Crossing had plenty of reasons to celebrate on January 6th, as they marked a special milestone in the life of one of their cherished residents. The day has since been affectionately dubbed “Ben Severn’s Day” in honor of Ben’s remarkable 102nd birthday!
The celebration was made even more memorable when Rochester’s mayor visited the community to join in the festivities and officially declared the day a local holiday.
The entire community gathered to honor Ben’s incredible journey and the joy he brings to everyone around him. MaryEllen, the Sales Director, expressed the heartfelt gratitude of the staff and residents, saying, “We are so honored Ben chose us as his home.”
The day was filled with laughter, love, and appreciation for a life well-lived, and everyone at Wynnfield Crossing was thrilled to celebrate Ben’s 102 years. What a wonderful way to recognize such an inspiring resident and make this milestone an unforgettable occasion! Happy 102nd birthday to Ben!
Cooking dreams
Anna, a resident of The Waterford at Carpenter’s Creek, had always dreamed of learning how to cook a delicious meal. Through the Tree of Dreams program, which supports residents in achieving their personal aspirations, her wish was brought to life. The team worked together to invite Chef Luther, a talented chef from a local college, to guide Anna through the process of creating a meal from scratch. With Chef Luther’s expertise and Anna’s passion for cooking, they prepared a hearty batch of chili and grilled cheeses that would be shared with the entire community.
As Anna served the meal to residents and staff, her face lit up with pride and joy. There was nothing more fulfilling for her than sharing her love of cooking with others. The event not only fulfilled Anna’s dream but also brought the community closer together, celebrating both the joy of cooking and the power of dreams. A big thank you to the team for making this happen, and a special shout-out to Chef Luther for being a part of such a meaningful experience. Bon appétit!
Artistic expressions
The Waterford at Mansfield is staying warm and cozy with a creative crafting session that brought both fun and artistic expression to the community! This week, residents of Magnolia Trails dove into the world of tape painting, an enjoyable and hands-on way to create unique abstract art. With the help of this exciting technique, residents explored a variety of styles, from bold geometric shapes to intricate hearts. It was amazing to see the variety of designs, as each resident added their own personal touch to the artwork.
Tape painting not only allowed the residents to showcase their painting skills, but it also provided a fun opportunity for everyone to engage and collaborate. The activity sparked creativity and laughter, making it the perfect way to brighten up a chilly day. Not only did the residents enjoy the process, but the final masterpieces brought a sense of pride and accomplishment. The team at The Waterford at Mansfield couldn’t have been more thrilled to see everyone having such a great time while exploring their artistic talents!
