Temporary stay

Sometimes called a respite care or rehab, temporary stay is available for seniors who need extra support and monitoring for a short period—such as recovering from a surgery or injury, or while a caregiver is away.

This is also a great way to see if a senior living community is right for you. For 30 days, you’ll stay in a spacious, private apartment and have access to all our community’s amenities and services throughout your stay.

Frequently asked questions about our care options

What is the difference between assisted living and memory care?

Assisted living can improve the daily life of seniors, especially for those who are starting to struggle on their own. Residents will receive support with everyday activities including bathing, getting dressed, incontinence care, help with mobility and more.

On the other hand, memory care facilities are specifically geared toward those living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. Assisted living can be an option for seniors in the early stages of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. If a higher level of care is needed due to advanced dementia, memory care is more suitable.

What is the difference between Temporary stay and the Adult day program?

The Adult day program and Temporary stay cater to different needs, but both provide supportive environments for seniors. The Adult Day program is designed for seniors who require care and engagement during daytime hours only. Participants in this program can benefit from structured activities, social interactions and individual care support while returning to their homes at the end of the day. This service is ideal for seniors who live with family members who work during the day or need a break from caregiving responsibilities.

On the other hand, Temporary stay, sometimes referred to as respite care or rehab, is intended for seniors who need continuous support and monitoring for a short period, typically up to 30 days. This option is perfect for seniors recovering from surgery or illness, or when their primary caregiver is unavailable. During their stay, guests enjoy a private apartment and full access to the community’s amenities and services, allowing them a comprehensive experience of the senior living community, which can be helpful in deciding whether to become a permanent resident.

Both programs provide valuable support and flexibility to meet the varying needs of seniors and their families, offering solutions that enhance well-being and quality of life.

How much does assisted living cost in Port Orange, Florida?

There are many factors that affect pricing. This includes the type of apartment, such as a studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment. However, the cost of assisted living at our community in Florida begins at $4,295 per month.

Moving to an assisted living community can help you save money! Expenses that are usually included as part of the monthly rent include utilities, basic cable and Wi-Fi (in some communities), groceries, meals, dining service, cleaning/housekeeping, maintenance, transportation services, and of course, activities to keep you entertained!

There are many options available to help pay for assisted living, including long-term care insurance policies, life insurance conversions, bridge loans and more. If you meet certain financial and health requirements, Medicaid may cover some costs for assisted living. Medicare doesn’t cover long-term care in an assisted living facility.

What services are included in assisted living rent?

At our community, staff are on-call 24/7 to respond to resident needs or emergencies. We offer social activities, meals, support with chores like housekeeping and laundry, medication management and help with tasks like bathing and getting dressed.

Residents generally have their own apartments, although some communities offer shared apartments to make them more affordable. Assisted living facilities are state-licensed with governing regulations that vary from state to state.

Are medical services offered on-site?

Many assisted living communities offer on-site care through partnerships with home health, hospice and medical providers. Some services that are available include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
