Temporary stay

Sometimes called a respite care or rehab, temporary stay is available for seniors who need extra support and monitoring for a short period—such as recovering from a surgery or injury, or while a caregiver is away.

This is also a great way to see if a senior living community is right for you. You’ll stay in a spacious, private apartment and have access to all our community’s amenities and services throughout your stay.

What are the differences between independent living and assisted living?

Independent living offers the advantages of independence paired with an active social life and assistance when it’s needed. You enjoy the convenience of living in an apartment or condo, along with the benefits of planned community activities, amenities and optional support services like housekeeping, laundry and more. There are no property taxes to pay or unexpected home maintenance costs to cover. If needed, light clinical assistance is available from outside agencies or private caregivers. 

Assisted living communities are for seniors who could benefit from assistance in their daily activities. This could include housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry services, medication assistance, or help with bathing, incontinence care or getting dressed. Seniors in assisted living can maintain their independence for as long as possible. Yet, they have the peace of mind that staff are on call 24/7 to respond to their needs or help in an emergency. 

How much does senior living cost in Macedonia, Ohio?

There are many factors that affect pricing. This includes the type of apartment, such as a studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment. However, the cost of senior living at our community in Macedonia begins at $2,200 for independent living and $4,275 for assisted living.

Moving to a senior living community can help you save money! Expenses that are usually included as part of the monthly rent include utilities, basic cable and Wi-Fi (in some communities), groceries, meals, dining service, cleaning/housekeeping, maintenance, transportation services, and of course, activities to keep you entertained! There are many options available to help pay for independent and assisted living, including long-term care insurance policies, life insurance conversions, bridge loans and more.

What services are included in senior living rent?

At our community, staff are on-call 24/7 to respond to resident needs or emergencies. We offer social activities, meals, support with chores like housekeeping and laundry, medication management and help with tasks like bathing and getting dressed. Residents generally have their own apartments, although some communities offer shared apartments to make them more affordable.

Are medical services offered on-site?

Many senior living communities offer on-site care, like physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, through partnerships with care providers, as well as home health care and hospice services. Senior living communities cannot provide clinical services like IV therapy, wound care and 24-hour nursing supervision.

What is respite care/temporary care?

Respite care, also known as temporary care, refers to a short-term stay at a senior living community. The stay ranges from a few days to a few weeks in a furnished apartment with access to community amenities and services. 

We offer this option for seniors in need of temporary residence. That could be due to a caregiver’s absence or a recent illness or injury, or even just for those who want to try out our community before making a permanent move.

I love the friendliness of the staff and the residents. I enjoy the Summit Point TV channel that allows me to view the daily events. The food is good and my apartment is complete with a dishwasher, microwave, full-sized stove, refrigerator and a balcony. Very home-like with upscale amenities. I love it! Leslie T.
