Our experience with Waterford at Shavano Park over the past year was truly exceptional. My aunt was a resident there, and from the very beginning, the administration and staff were incredibly supportive, caring, and compassionate.

What stood out most to our family was the genuine connection the staff developed with my aunt. They took the time to get to know her as a person, understand her needs, and make her feel comfortable, valued, and cared for. It was clear that they didn’t simply see her as a resident—they truly cared about her.

The entire staff created a warm, loving, and welcoming environment. Their patience, kindness, and dedication gave our family tremendous peace of mind knowing that my aunt was being well cared for.

We are extremely grateful to everyone at Waterford at Shavano Park for the care and compassion they showed my aunt and our family throughout her time there. The staff made a difficult chapter in our lives much easier, and we will always appreciate the kindness they showed her.

What an incredible group of people! Debra and Meghan are phenomenal.  They have been there every step of the way to ensure that my mom received the care she needed.  Debra has gone ABOVE  "above and beyond" so many times in so many ways to help my mom. Meghan has made sure that all of our communications were heard and taken care of. Mercedes, Jessica, Carrie, Stephanie, Ester, Shayla, Leticia, and Yolanda are so kind to the residents as well as professional.  Logan,Julia, Sheila, Brieanna, and Evangelina has made my mom's stay in assisted living a good experience so far. There are activities everyday for the residents to participate in, the facility is welcoming and clean, and the building maintenance is top notch. Joe also went above and beyond to get my mom's cable box and wifi up and running. The only suggestion my mom would make is to add more flavor to the menu items (not more salt but more flavor), offer milk alternatives like almond milk, and to offer sugar free desserts with natural sugar alternatives not chemical sweeteners. But my mom was an incredible cook in her prime (as I would think a lot of the residents were) so going from the flavorful delicious meals she used to make for herself and her family to assisted living meals has been tough for her. I told my mom that the cooking staff should ask the residents for their own recipes of simple healthy flavorful meals. You've got grandparents who had cooked and baked for themselves and their families for years who know how to make SO MANY delicious meals. That's a wealth of knowledge right at the staff's fingertips. The menu needs some working on but that's an easy enough fix."The Waterford" gets a 10 out of 10 from me. This is an outstanding assisted living facility.  Everyone is so caring and helpful to all residents. The mature trees and safe Shavano Park neighborhood make it a great choice to live. The Waterford at Shavano park has amazing employees from clinical staff, to dining staff and management. All residents are welcoming and so kind. Just to list a couple great things here at The Waterford,
Residents are all so welcoming and kind to anyone who walks in whether it be a potential move in or a new resident and their family.
Staff is always so helpful and willing to go above and beyond to provide the best care for each and every resident!
Food is always made fresh and plenty of options to choose from.
Daily activities in our assisted living facility are always so much fun with the director Lucy! She always makes events so fun and residents enjoy all her efforts!

I’ve had the chance to spend time in both the memory care and assisted living areas, and I’m always impressed by the staff. Everyone is kind, patient, and truly attentive to the residents. The community is consistently clean and well taken care of, and there’s such a welcoming, positive atmosphere throughout the building. You can really tell the residents are cared for and respected here.
