Malinda, Concierge at Rosemont, spreads joy by making handmade hats for residents, a true reflection of her kindness and compassion. Residents adore her, often stopping by the front desk just to visit. One day, Ms. Gladys mentioned needing a hat, and Malinda, wanting it to be special, asked what color she’d like. That evening, she found extra fabric and crafted not one, but two hats—just in case someone else needed one too.
The next day, Malinda surprised Gladys with the handmade hat. Tears filled Gladys’ eyes as she realized the depth of Malinda’s kindness, a touching reminder of how simple acts of love can make a difference. Inspired by the joy her gift brought, Malinda has since made eleven hats, giving five to memory care residents and continuing to craft more. She never takes measurements, creating each hat by sight, even making one for Crumble to match the residents.
Malinda’s generosity goes beyond hats—she visits residents who rarely leave their apartments, ensuring they feel valued. She brings something special to the community every day, putting others first with her unwavering kindness. As Amie, Executive Director, beautifully expressed, “It was a moment that reminded us of the power of simple acts of love.” Malinda is truly a blessing to Rosemont.
